Subject:       Announcements of SHRM Foundation Scholarships

SHRM Foundation Regional Scholarship Applications are due July 16, 2007. The SHRM Foundation has doubled its 2007 funding for regional scholarships. Here is a sample announcement for you or your SHRM Foundation Liason to present at your chapter meetings and for publication in your chapter newsletter/website. Attached is a flyer that you can distribute at the monthly meetings as well.

SHRM Foundation Scholarships

The SHRM Foundation is currently accepting applications from SHRM members for Academic Scholarships of $1,375 each and Certification Scholarships of $750 each. Academic Scholarship recipients may use the funds for tuition and related college expenses, and Certification Scholarship recipients may be used to purchase HRCI test preparation materials, attend a review class and/or pay the certification exam fee.

The SHRM Foundation has doubled its 2007 funding for these regional scholarships, and $20,000 in scholarships will be awarded in each of the 5 SHRM regions. For more information and to print out an application, go to www.shrm.org/foundation and choose "Scholarships and Awards. The application deadline is July 16, 2007, and the scholarship winners will be announced on August 25, 2007. Your tax-deductable donations to the SHRM Foundation support the Regional Scholarship Program.

I also look forward to continuing to make brief presentations at your chapter meetings as the year progresses. Contact me to schedule a 5 to 7 minute presentation on the SHRM Foundation and its programs, and let me know if I can provide additional information on the Regional Scholarship Program.

Thanks,
